DeForest Area Public Library Regular Library Board Minutes
Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
- Call to Order and Roll Call
- President Van Iten called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
- Present : Blount, Borden, Englesby, Gorres, Paplow, Van Iten.
- Absent and excused : Lawrence.
- Also present : Newbegin.
- Approval of Agenda
- Motion to Approve as presented : Englesby.
- Second : Borden.
- Action : Approved.
- Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes of December 5, 2013.
- Motion to Approve as presented : Gorres.
- Second : Englesby.
- Discussion : None.
- Action : Approved.
- Public Presentations / Communications
- Newbegin noted Berg sent greetings from her trip to the Board.
- Approval of Bills
- Motion to Approve the Bills as presented : Englesby.
- Second : Gorres.
- Discussion : There was a brief discussion about the WPLC.
- Action : Approved.
- Reports
- Director's - In Berg's absence, Newbegin noted that due to the wind chill warning, the Library closed at 3 p.m. on Monday, and the Library's delivery was canceled on Tuesday.
- President's - Van Iten noted Paplow would be moving out of the area and leaving the Library Board. The Library Board thanked Paplow for her service on the Board.
- Village Update - Blount noted the dog park was now officially open and briefly discussed the odor issue with Sanimax, which was on the front page of this week's newspaper.

- Discussion and possible approval of Dane County Library Service contract for reimbursement for providing service to Dane County residents.
- Motion to Approve : Borden.
- Second : Gorres.
- Discussion : Borden noted it was a standard contract and it was necessary to have it signed in order to receive the reimbursement.
- Action : Approved.
- Discussion and possible approval of Dane County Library Service contract for reimbursement for providing service to Dane County residents.
