Sample Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteer applications are available at the circulation desk.

• Adopt-a-Shelf Volunteer: 

  Help library staff maintain its collections to keep materials readily available for patron usage and requests.

• Adult Program/Event Assistant: 

  Provide support for adult library programs and/or events.

• Children’s Program/Event Assistant: 

  Provide support for children’s library programs and/or events.

• Indoor Plant Care/Waterer: 

  Water and care for indoor library plants.

• Pick List Assistant: 

  Assist the circulation staff by retrieving items to fill library holds.

• Studio 203 Assistant: 

  Provide support for drop-in activities in Studio 203, which is a space that changes frequently and is an engaging and attractive area designed to draw children and families in to do quick hands-on activities as they enter the library.

• Workshop Program/Event Assistant: 

  Provide support for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Manufacturing) programs and/or events.

• Young Adult Special Events Assistant: 

  Provide adult support and supervision for young adult events.

• Friends of the DeForest Area Public Library: 

  The Friends of the DeForest Public Library is a membership group that provides valuable financial and volunteer support for the library.
