Join Trista, a certified professional organizer in Marie Kondo's KonMari Method, for a lesson on how to turn your home from a place of clutter and stress to one of joy and ease.
We will discuss the basics of the KonMari Method, which include tidying by category rather than room, and choosing the items that stay in the home based on feelings of joy and intention rather than guilt or fear.
By the end of the process, the goal is to live in a home surrounded by items that only bring you happiness, and releasing items that have outlived their purpose with gratitude.

Presented by a Dane County Aging and Disability Resource Center Memory Care Specialist
A memory screen is a wellness tool that helps identify possible changes in memory. It creates a baseline so future changes can be monitored.
Specialists from the Dane County Aging and Disability Resource Center will provide free 10-minute memory screenings at the Library in Room C.
You can also get information about memory, memory clinics, brain health, and local resources.
Need help with your tablet, smartphone, or something on the computer? Signup for a one-on-one 30-minute session covering a technology issue of your choice.
Note: These sessions are not professional technical support meant to diagnose or repair broken or non functioning equipment.
Not able to attend a session? Email Cate, Adult Services Librarian, cateh [at] deforestlibrary.org to set up an alternative one-on-one time.
A waiver will need to be signed at the first session.
What is Qigong?
It is a slow-movement exercise with gentle stretching. Qigong can create better energy, better sleep, relaxation, and reduce stress.
If you have a disability and require accommodation in order to fully participate, please contact library staff.
You've probably heard that coloring has many benefits. Here's what the Journal of the American Art Therapy Association recently stated.
"Studies have shown that “structured coloring of a reasonably complex geometric pattern,” such as a symmetrical mandala pattern or coloring book, can lead to a meditative state that helps reduce anxiety. Consider breaking out your adult coloring books, or drawing your own pattern."
Our library's Coloring for Adults group will be meeting in Room C to color together.
The DAPL Photo Group is open to any adult interested in photography. We have members of all skill levels, from amateurs to professional photographers. The group provides an opportunity for individuals to practice their photography skills, try new techniques, share their work, and learn from others in a supportive environment.
The group meets the 3rd Monday of every month at 6 pm. Each month features a different theme or activity. New members of all skill levels are always welcome!
Join us the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month for the library's Memoir Writing Group. Everyone has a story to tell. Share a memory from your life or write about the people, places, and events that helped to shape it.
Bring a copy of your writing to the meeting. At the meeting, share your writing and listen as others read their stories. This is not a critique group but a supportive place to share your writing.
We have members with all skill levels. New members and visitors are always welcome!
