My library empowers me to... dream, save, create, learn, explore, connect, and more.

Embark on an outdoor adventure with the DAPL's story walk at Sunfish Pond. Steve Metzger's delightful book, We're Going on a Nature Hunt, is a wonderful way to start your family's explorations along the Upper Yahara River Trail.
This Story Walk is presented in partnership with the Village of DeForest Park & Recreation Department.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
It's time to celebrate a remarkable summer reading program and kick off a new school year. Our community of readers blew away every challenge we posted, so we're throwing a party!
Join us for:
Rain Date: Sunday, August 1
Stop in before Summer Exploratory and learn from author Bev Davis about her book, Winging It, and how family members can work together to protect and save the Monarch butterfly.
Learn what simple supplies and plants you can put in place at your home to help these butterflies thrive.
In case of rain this event will move inside to the library’s Community Room.
Flourish & Blotts Bookseller (aka the Friends of the DAPL) will be opening its bookrooms in honor of Harry Potter's birthday! The rooms will reveal delights for muggles, wizards, and witches alike.
Volunteers will be on hand to help you find just the books, movies, and music you want and need.
Please support the Friends of the DeForest Area Public Library, a 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds benefit the DeForest Area Public Library.
Masks are encouraged and appreciated while in the Library.
Grab fresh reads for the end of summer and stock up for a new school year at the self-service Friends of the DAPL Book Sale. Both bookrooms will be open for a special one-day sale, Saturday, July 31, 9 am to 3 pm.
Browse the racks on the lower level of the Library, including the children's book room, and pay for them at the Circulation Desk on the main level during library business hours. Payment will be on the honor system. Change will not be available, but donations above your purchase price are welcome.
Volunteers will update the selection regularly, so shop often!
