Tales about parrots, macaws, and other exotic birds are often as beautiful as their tails. Meet some of these amazing creatures and learn about Feathered Friends Sanctuary & Rescue and the work they do to rescue and provide safe haven for exotic birds in captivity.

Space will be limited for this indoor program. Masks will be encouraged and appreciated, and social distancing will be required.

Due to limited space this program will be offered twice. The Tales Take Flight - Session 2 at 2:00 pm is the same program as this one.

Tails & Tales with Nature's Niche

Which animal tales are true and which are not?  Sort out fact from fiction with help from Dennis "Dino" Tlachac, founder of Nature's Niche: Exotic and Native Animal Rescue. His menagerie of "creature teachers" will be on hand for this fun, interactive program.

The program will be held outdoors in front of the Library's Market Street entrance, weather permitting. Bring a chair to enjoy the program from Market Street, which will be closed for the presentation.

Whale of a Tale with Colossal Fossils

Just how big is a whale? Meet modern animals like the humpback whale, their dolphin cousins, the orcas, and their ancient ancestors...and see some of their gargantuan bones and skulls in person!

Word has it that there may even be a life-sized, inflatable whale.

The program will be held outdoors in front of the Library's Market Street entrance, weather permitting. Bring a chair to enjoy the program from Market Street, which will be closed for the presentation.

Let your creativity go wild and bring animals to life with chalk on the Library patio (outside the Children's Room).

Need some inspiration? Perhaps a roll of the dice will help you create a fantastical new creature. Or you can take a turn or two on a chalk obstacle course.

Concert on Market Street: Crosstown Drive

Crosstown Drive is a country duo from Sun Prairie, WI with a heart for Nashville, TN. They write and perform their own music and have built a solid regional following of fans interested in hearing and singing along to that music. They're no stranger to the big stage, having shared the stage with acts like Eric Paslay, Jameson Rodgers, and Thompson Square.

In 2016 they released their first demo CD called "Test Drive" and in 2018 released their first studio album "Get In the Car."

Ken Lonnquist brings laughter and song to audiences of all ages, exploring themes of nature, human nature, and current events. His kid’s songs are terrific and the soundtrack of childhood for many happy families around the world!

Concert on Market Street: The Cat's Pajamas Vocal Duo - Featuring Skinner & David

The Cat's Pajamas bring their high energy show in the form of a vocal DUO. Forged out of funky beats and smooth bass lines, Skinner and Dave have both been performing a cappella professionally for over 18 years.

Their repertoire consists of popular covers of many genres, decades and styles of music. Their fast paced, high octane show combines comedy, music, instrument emulation and loop technology into one dynamic and fun for the whole family show.
